In the neighborhood where my mom and Aunt Betty lives there is a little dead end street that runs in to a small field. In that field the citizens of this small Georgia community have started a small but efficient community garden where they grow all sorts of fruits and vegetables.
Though this is not aoreign for most older southernors, it has become a growing trend amoungst many of the younger generation. Especially in this day in age when food cost is up and obesity is running rampant in or culture, it has become more important that we start to think outside of the box when it comes to eating healthier and pinching our pennies.
It is true that many Americans today are trying to eat healthier, but the super marketsand grociers aren't making it easy. How often have you gone to the grocery store and wanted to take the healthier road but as you loaded up your shopping cart with fruits and veggies you found your bill to be significantly more than when you opted for the less nutritional options that were high in fat andlow in nutriants? Its expensive to do the right thing and eat healthy.
But this community and many house holds in the south and across the country have started getting back to basics, buy purchasing soil and seeds from the local gardening center the are now planting and maintaining gardens like the one you see pictured above that feed many families for cents on the dollar. Making it easier to eat healthier while at the save time saving us from the high premiums of shopping at the major grocery stores. I love this idea though I wouln't tell my mom who suggested to me months ago that I should probably plant a garden in my back yard. Well now I think I just might make the move and plant a garden of my own next year.

Cold Cup of Coffee
DaI love to drink coffee all day long, but on a day liketoday its just too hot for al that. So here is a trick for all you coffee drinkers on a budget who still want your coffe on a sweltering hot day. Take some old coffee, simple syrup and ice and shake it up in a martini shaker, pour into a glass and add milk. And you have a cool refreashing coffee fix. P.S. I add baileys to mines sometimes, but don't tell nobody. LoL...
And thank is my confession
